One Japanese Ivory Okimono Figural Group of Fisherman and Boy. Measurements: Fisherman 6 inches; Boy 4.5 inches. Description: This is an exceptionally well-carved group, placed on an oval-shaped wood base, of a standing fisherman holding up a net with both hands, and a boy standing next to him, grasping a rudder with his right hand and holding with his left hand, a basket filled with fish resting on his shoulder. Fish and rocks are on the ground. the figures are decorated in painted and incised fashion with wave and fish scale patterns. The quality is very fine and the condition is termed fine. The group appears to date from the 19th Century of Japan's Meiji period. Price information: The superior quality, design and condition were taken into account.
