Appraisal description: Measurement: H 7 inches. Description: The fisherman, an okimono, with long beard and long flowing robes, is shown holding a fishing rod with fish with both hands, with a basket with a protruding fish tail place on the ground at his left. The figure is stained in brown and is with fine patina. The quality is good, the condition good with one small chip to the hat. The piece appears to date from the late 19th Century or early 20th Century of Japan's Meiji period. 2001 appraisal value of $575 by Elisabeth Weikert Douglas, The China Coast, Austin, TX. J.D.
